Action Against AMD is grateful to Mark O’Donnell, former CEO of Sight Scotland Veterans, for his service and commitment as a representative of one of our three governing charities. As Mark leaves the leadership of Sight Scotland Veterans and the sister charity Sight Scotland, a new ex-officio trustee will take on the role.
Action Against AMD is a non-profit organisation aiming to create convenient, affordable, and accessible solutions that stop Age-related Macular Degeneration in its early stages, before it causes sight loss.
Rob Bryan, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Action Against AMD, commented on Mark’s departure: ‘We were privileged to have had Mark O’Donnell in our Board and Committees for the last four years. He will be missed as a colleague but will remain a friend and a role model of leadership.”
Dr Wen Hwa Lee, Chief Executive and Chief Scientist of Action Against AMD, stated: ‘Mark O’Donnell raised the profile of the organisations he led, and also of the one I am proud to lead. Mark made good on his mission to reach those affected by sight loss in Scotland, whilst supporting research on the prevention of further sight loss.'
Mark O’Donnell said: ‘I shall cherish my time as a member of the Action Against AMD Board and watch as this young charity grows and develops further, building on strong foundations.’
